over thanksgiving break (when i wasn't updating my site), i aquired the most gorgeous blonde telecaster
as an early christmas gift! it's a 1995 japanese blonde tele from the 1952 tribute series. i didn't realize
when i got it, but it also happened to be modded with duncan texas tele pickups (naturally, i purchased the guitar in texas, my home state).
i've just gotten back from winter break as of writing this, and i happened to mod it even more. i replaced the old
jack with a nice multicontact jack, given how the old jack would randomly ground if you pressed if wrong.
i also added in a 4 way switch over the crusty old 3 way one. i wired the new one to put the two single coil pickups
in series. it sounds glorious!
i also upped the treble bleed, but i think i overdid it a bit. it sounds more "acoustic-esque" on the 3 series and single coil options,
but it sounds heavenly on the in-series option. super rich and very high in mids. of course, the 3 other options
still sound great, but it just takes a bit of adjustment on the tone knob to get something satisfactory to my ear
when dry. even contrasting that, the 3 options all sound killer on high drive, where the fourth just has too much bass!
below are just some images of my beautiful. the first video is me bored in the airport, learning "wish you were here",
the second video is just me showing off the gorgeous tone after my mods. nothing super interesting to watch, but a good
demonstration of the sound.
